Exam Review Part 2

Converting fractions, decimals, and percents

The first image shows the before, and the bottom shows the after. When converting fractions decimals and percents, you multiply the fraction by the denominator and once you get your decimal, you multiply it by 100 to get your percent. Here is why:

Decimal: Out of 1
Percents: Out of 100

Here are some other examples:

  1. 1/2 = 0.5, 50%
  2. 0.75= 3/4, 75%
  3. 80%= 4/5, 0.8

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Probability:
Probability means the chance of something happenin
g.
This is one of the ways we can figure out a question like : P: heads and rolling a 4 with a regular die. We can use a Probability Tree.
Factors are multiples of a given number. For example, the factors of 32 include:
1, 2 , 4, 8, 16, and 32.
( 1 x 32 = 32 )
( 2 x 16 = 32 )
(4 x 8 = 32 )
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

You can also use a Venn Diagram to help you figure out 2 different sets of factors and common factors. To find the factors of 30 and 36, you do this:
