carroll diagram -is a table used to show how numbers are the same or different .

when you do the carroll diagram it will say divisible by a number im going to use 2 as an example then you would figure out what number goes into 24 well then you would see all the possible outcomes and put them in there

Venn diagram-is used for showing relationships between groups of numbers
the middle means both
the left means divisible by the number and the right mean divisible by another number

Divisibility Rules:

divisibility- When a number can be divided by another number with no remainder or decimal.

divisibility rules-

2- all even numbers. (numbers that end in 0,2,4,6,8)
3-the sum of all the digits must equal a multiple of 3.
example: 93 , 9+3= 12 , 1+2= 3.
4- if the number is divisible by 2 twice. OR If the last two digits are divisible by 2 then the whole number is divisible by 4.
example: 124 , 24 is divisible by 4 so the whole number is divisible by 4 OR we can divide 124 by 2 twice and still have the whole number.

5- all numbers that end in 5 or 0.

6- any number that is divisible by 2 & 3.
8- divisible by 2 twice OR the last 3 digits are divisible by 8.

9- the sum of all the digits must equal to 9.
example: 18 , 1+8=9 225 , 2+2+5=9
10- all numbers that en
d in 0.

7- no rule, use a calculator.
0-nothing.

1- every number.

If you are having trouble click on this very fun game to help you know the rules & have fun at the same time!

Here is a picture of the divisibility rules.

1 represents term1 2 rpresents term 2 and 3 represents term three
the pattern is blocks x term
eg. term 2 and and for every term there are two blocks so the formula is b x t=4 (2 x 2=4)

Experimental Probability - The probability of an event occuring based on experimental results

-Chances of somthing happening based on actually doing it

eg: what is the probability of the spinner on red on in 12 chances

Red
2
Green
5
Blue
3
Orange
2
2
-
12
Theoretical Probability - The expected probability of an event occuring
- without doing a expirement what we think will happen

eg. Whats the theoritical probability of getting red
Green Blue Orange Red
1
-
4
25%
1:4

how to tell what fraction fits the picture

first if you are looking at small fractions they would be
1/4
1/3
1/2
1/1
etc

okay you have the following pictures.now you see the half one, the hole one,the one out of 4 and the one out of three. you also see what they are out of ,well when you see that the numbers are out of the same number as the fraction pictures you look at how many are colored or shaded in ,then you try and figure out what picture fits the fraction. when you decide witch one fits you have an answer.

1/2 1/4 1/1 1/3

these are the answers once you have figured out witch one fits you have the idea on how to find fractions with pictures.

Notes

Probability - Likehood or chance of an event occuring
Determine Probability by making a fraction
Favourable outcomes
--------------------
Possible outcomes
eg. flipping a coin calling heads Heads 1
Heads = -
or tails 2
Outcome - One possible result of a probability expirement
favourable outcome - A successful result in a probability expirement
p(outcome) Is short for saying probability of somthing happening

A chef tapes the word Salad to one side of a coin and Cooked on the other. He makes a spinner with region for brocoli, carrots and beans. He flips the coin once and spins the spinner once to choose vegetable for the night's special Cafe Chef.List the sample space for this experiment.

Salad hannah Cooked
/ H I H \ Hannah / H I H \
Br H C H B Han Br H C H B

Brocoli=Br
Carrots=C
Beans=B
