1. Annie has been asked to calculate 1.7+6÷2. She claims the answer is 3.85. Do you agree? Explain why or why not.

2. Put brackets in the following expression to get the largest value possible. What problem solving strategy did you use?3x2.8+6.4÷4

ANSWER

this are the possible answers
( 3x2.8)+6.4÷4 or 3x2.8+(6.4÷4)

1st answer:
( 3x2.8)+6.4÷4
2nd answer:3x2.8+(6.4÷4)

3. Create a problem that can be solved using the following expression: 2.5+1.25+5 x 1.6

ANSWER:

Andrew wanted to buy this new CD that was worth $11.75 including tax
but Andrew only have$2.5o dollars but his mom gave him $1.25 by doing chores he did chores for five of his neighbors and all of them gave him $1.60 each how much did he raise does he have enough money to buy the new CD.


answer is yes he has enough money to buy the new CD
