Common Denominators

A common multiple of the denominators of a set fractions

A common denominator for 1 over 4 and 1 over 6 is 12 because a common multiple of 4 and 6 is 12

Multiples ( skip count )

The product of a given number and a natural number like 1,2,3 and so on

For example some multiples of 3 are 3,6,9,12

1x3=3 ,2x3=6, 3x3=9,3x4=12

List 5 multiples of 4

Don't find factors

4,8,12,16,20,24

1 over 2 and 2 over 3 find common denominator

(find multiples first than find LCF )

multiples of 2 are 2,4,6,8,10 multiples of 3 are 3,6,9,12,15

The LCF is 6 so

1 x3 3

2 x3 6 What you do to the bottom you must do to the top

2 x2 4

3 x2 6 What you do to the bottom you must do to the top

Sorry guys I could add a picture or a video
